Community Suicide Awareness from Wirral Connect. Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide Group. Every 3rd Monday of month



Wirral Connect is currently working to support the Cheshire and Merseyside No More – Zero Suicide Strategy.


The core vision of the strategy is:


‘Cheshire and Merseyside is a region where suicides are eliminated, where people do not consider suicide as a solution to the difficulties they face. A region that supports people at a time of personal crisis and builds individual and community resilience for improved lives’


Wirral Connect is working to develop a number of projects and services to support in making Wirral a Suicide Safer Community.


Current Projects:


Support Groups for Individuals affected by suicide (funded through Morrison’s Foundation)


In partnership with national charity Survivors Bereaved by Suicide (SOBS – Wirral Connect facilitates a support group for anyone who has been affected by suicide. This group is open to all and is held on the 3rd Monday of every month based in Birkenhead Fire Station 7-9pm.



Mentoring Project for Individuals affected by suicide (funded through Your Wirral Funding)


Wirral Connect is a developing a project to provide one to one mentoring support to individuals affected by suicide.


Mentors working on a one to one basis with individuals to support them to build confidence and access services based exclusively to their needs.
